🐦🐦Migration Birdcast 3/1/22🐦🐦

-Gray Catbird-a late fall migrant, stays in the keys until April

It's the most wonderful time of the year-for us birders!!!! Migration has already begun, for some raptors such as the swallow tailed kite, and some warblers such a the Myrtle yellow rumped warbler. Robins also are the move since February-Even though not as common through the keys, some have reported seeing them before, and I have seen them once at mahogany Hammock near the Florida Bay in the everglades. Thank you for everyone who is sharing, and reporting migratory birds that are they finding throughout the keys. Please continue to do so we can all track migration together!!!! Current reports of migratory birds that are still around are:

*Gnatcatchers, palm warblers, migrating turkey vultures, catbirds, yellow bellied sapsuckers, painted buntings, prairie warblers, ruby throated hummingbirds.

*Local birds like cardinals and mockingbirds have been observed starting to gather nesting materials for breeding season which you should see baby birds in the coming months and into summeršŸ˜
